KOAT 7 News
SANTA FE, N.M. — A veteran will soon be buried at the Santa Fe National Cemetery, but none of his family will be there. Army Private First Class Lawrence Kays died at Christus St. Vincent Hospital in November. His body was at the morgue for a month, because no one claimed him. Raymond Lucero with the Rivera Family Funeral Home in Santa Fe took in the veteran's body and has organized a funeral for Kays. Lucero is hoping members of the community attend.

"One door closes and another door opens."

Aloha y Saludos from Hawaii.

Emotionally, I wish to express my pride and gratitude for the selfless military service of Mr. Lawrence Kays in defense of this great nation and share my boundless gratitude to Mr. Raymond Lucero for being the honorable role model that he is to us all by lovingly bringing Mr. Kays into the Family of the Faithful.

It is these types of men, these heroes who truly make the United States of America the greatest expression of the Love of God that mankind has ever seen, much more than any so-called "leader".

I will follow Mr. Kay's and Mr. Lucero's example of what true greatness is, of what the actual meaning of the "Brother/Sister-hood of Mankind" really is supposed to be about.

My heart is swollen with gratitude for the likes of them.

Thank you for your honorable service. And may the peace of our Lord Jesus Christ always be with you.

Respectfully,

Dean Arturo Rivera De Jesus Sr.
Kailua, Hawaii
