Mardy Karki

Mardy Karki passed away April 21, 2022, at home in White Rock.

Mardy was born September 19, 1943, in Saginaw, Mich. She married her husband Theodore in 1977 and moved to White Rock in 1980. She ran her own cleaning business “Mardy’s Housekeeping” while she raised her 3 children. After retirement she became a volunteer for many organizations.

Mardy was an avid baker, pinochle player, White Rock Senior Center receptionist, and a proud member of the White Rock Methodist Church. She always had a story to tell you and never was shy about her opinion on anything. She was a fighter in life and gave us a run for our money till the end. 

There was never a dull moment if Mardy was around, and you never knew what to expect. We will miss her sense of humor and loving spirit.

She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. She is survived by her husband Ted, Brother Gary Porter from Michigan, and children Mike Chaltraw from Michigan; Terry Chaltraw from White Rock; Darrin Karki from Texas; and Michelle Karki from Colorado, 10 grandchildren, and numerous great-grandchildren.

A Memorial Service will be held at White Rock Methodist Church at 11 am. on May 21. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to The Los Alamos Visiting Nurses
