Margaret Medina

Margaret Soveida Medina of Santa Fe died on August 24, 2011 from complications of diabetes and congestive heart failure. Born on December 7, 1943, in Cheyenne, Wyoming, Margaret was adopted and reared by her paternal grandparents Epimenio and Margarita Medina, who preceded her in death. Also, preceding her in death are her Uncle Delfino Medina of Penasco, her maternal grandparents Alfredo and Adelina Trujillo, Aunts Frances Vigil and Mary Trujillo.
Margaret leaves behind her beloved son Adam P. Medina, and her two precious grandsons Marcos and Michael Medina of Santa Fe, as well as her aunt Onecima Gonzales of Penasco who reared her as a real mother would.
She is also survived by her father Porfirio Medina of Albuquerque and natural mother Eloisa Chavez of Denver, uncle Demetrio Medina of Los Lunas, brothers; George, Ben, David, Dennis and Greg Chavez of Denver, sisters; JoAnn, Shirley and Donna Chavez, all of Denver, uncles Junior Trujillo of Talpa and Tony Trujillo of Guadalupita, aunt Dolores Trujillo of Colorado and many nieces and nephews.
Margaret retired from State Government on December 31, 2005, after 31 years of service to her precious New Mexico where she ended her career as a Human Resources Administrator with CYFD. She began her career with the New Mexico Magazine, State Library, State Personnel Office, DVR and CYFD. She graduated in 1962 from Penasco High School, and attended Northern New Mexico and Santa Fe Community College.

Holy Rosary was recited on August 30, 2011, at St. Anne Parish.Funeral Mass was held August 31, 2011,at St. Anne Parish.
