Maria "Amy" Gonzales, beloved wife, mother & grandmother, passed away peacefully on February 21, 2024 at the age of 84. Born on April 17, 1939 to Reymundo and Benigna Sandoval. She lived a life filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories.

Maria "Amy" Gonzales was a devoted catholic who was an Auxiliary Member of the Our Lady of Faith Alter Society with the St. Anthony's Parish in Pecos, NM. She touched the lives of many with her kindness, generosity, and unwavering compassion. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her

She was preceded in death by her parents: Reymundo and Benigna Sandoval; husband: Marcos Gonzales; and son-in-law Henry D. Varela.

She is survived by her Brother Seferino Sandoval and Sister Sadie Quintana; son, Bennie Gonzales and his wife Elaine of Pecos, daughter Wanda Varela-Romero and her husband Joe Romero of Pecos. She is also survived by 4 grandchildren: Nicole Cardenas and her husband Richard Cardenas; Henry Varela and his wife Margaret Varela, and Ben Gonzales and Samantha Varela; 4 great-grand children also survive Amy: Sophia Varela, Carolina Cardenas, Leah Varela, and Natalie Varela. We would also like to give special recognition to her companion Arey Martinez and numerous other relatives and friends of Amy and her family.....

A rosary and funeral service will be held in honor of Maria "Amy" Gonzales on Wednesday, February 28, 2024 at 10:00am at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Pecos, NM with a Funeral Mass to follow at 11:00am. Burial will take place immediately after at St. Anthony’s Cemetery.
