Maria Porfiria Moore

Maria Porfiria Guara Moore, 87, of Taos passed away December 24, 2012. Porfiria was raised in the historical district of La Loma, later residing in Ranchitos. She is preceded in death by her husband, Stanley Moore, parents, Nabor and Adelaida Bent Guara, siblings, Amelia G. Rivera, Louis, Henry and Felix Guara, Delia G. Sisneros, nephews, Martin Rivera, great-nephews, Lawrence and David Chavez, Kevin Nichols and Robert Guara. She is survived by her niece, Elizabeth Nichols-Medina (Mike), sister, Margarita Guara, great nieces and nephews who knew her like their grandmother, Jeremiah, Samantha and Elena Nichols, Kathleen Defnet, Jamie Roberts, nieces, Consuelo Chavez (Richard), Naomi Rivera, Rita Mondragon, Matilda Rivera, Alice Sandoval (James), Anthony Guara, great nieces and nephews, Shawn Sandoval, Shannon Sandoval, (Jose), Miquela and Mia Tarango Sandoval, Barbara Rivera, Rachel, Justine and Jonas Mondragon (Lawrence), Chuck Chavez, Leonard and Ricky Rivera, and sister in-law, Julia Tamayo.

Rosary was recited on December 28, 2012. Funeral mass was held on December 29, 2012. Both services were held at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Taos. Interment will be held at the Santa Fe National Cemetery on Thursday, January 3, 2013.
