Biography

Marie Elizabeth Hannock, 86, of Taos passed away September 06, 2011. Mitzi loved Taos and her special gardens as well as her friends and gardens in Philadelphia, Charlotte, Memphis and Dallas. She is preceded in death by her husband, Elwin W. Hannock Jr., brothers, Andreas and Anton Korn. She is survived by children, Marbury Hooey (Richard) of Philadelphia, Anthony Hannock (Heather) of Port Macquarie, New South Wales Australia, stepson, Elwin W. Hannock III (Pamela) of Bluffton, SC, grandchildren, Stella Marie Hannock, Lillian Charlotte Hannock, Rebecca Brown, Brooks Hannock, great grandchildren, Megan, Peyton and Reid Brown, Abigail and Jack Hannock.

Memorial service were held on September 09, 2011 at Rivera Chapel.

We are so sorry to hear of your mother's passing and offer you our deepest sympathy. We will miss "Aunt Mitzi" very much and will always have fond memories of our visits with her in Taos and Dallas. She was a joy to be with, always with her upbeat attitude and really fun sense of humor! She will always stay in our hearts.

Tony and Marbury, I was so sad to hear yesterday of your mother's death. What a special person she was and what colorful and warm memories I will always have of my visits with her and your father in Taos. Just wish I could have had one more. Mitzi is and was a wonderful lady, with a great humor and a live-and-let-live attitude. I wanted to be more like her, taking all in stride with such grace. She led a beautiful life in Taos. She so enjoyed her flowers and back porch, where she spent many a sun-drenched afternoon.

Mitzi, my little piece of Taos has survived the brutal Dallas summer, one gangly sprig of common mint has flourished, and spread like a weed, just like you told me it would! You will be always be in my heart!!!
