Beloved daughter of Santa Fe Markley Julie Lumpkins passed on April 9, 2024.
She was the daughter of William Thomas Lumpkins and Janette Willis Lumpkins.
Raised in Santa Fe, received her BS and MA degrees from Highlands University she enjoyed a full career teaching Physical Education at Harvey Mudd, Mid High and Santa fe high. She taught thousands of youths and tried to impress on them the code she lived by in her life- "do unto others as you would have done unto you"
In her early years she was an active Santa Fe Search and Rescue member. Throughout her life, her love of history made her the family scribe reaching back to the comings of family on Mayflower and from Europe. She was a founding member of the Santa Fe High Retired Teachers, who still meet regularly today. She is admired for her character, her belief in fairness and her sense of humor. In her final days she continued making her friends, family, doctors and staff smile
She is survived by her Namesake niece Markley Monet Lumpkins and her great nephews Ayden Vaugh and Ethan Quinn
