Mary Ellen Mullady passed away peacefully in her daughter's home in Taos, NM at the too-young age of 67 on October 14th, 2022. She passed with dignity and grace, and was surrounded by immense love. Mary Ellen, aka Mom, Nanu, or Dinky, was the funniest, most quick-witted woman you have ever met, who could make you laugh so hard you would cry. She never met a stranger in her life -- every new person was just a friend she hadn't traded stories with yet. Born in Queens, New York, Mary Ellen grew up in Baldwin and graduated from Oceanside High School. She raised her family in Long Beach, NY, and always remained a New Yorker to her core, with the accent and the colorful language to prove it. In 2018, she made her way out west to be with her daughter Julia, son-in-law Kan, and the sunshines of her life, grandbabies Ellie Rose (8) and Julian, aka Baby J (15 mo). Friends, family and acquaintances near and far will dearly miss her long phone calls, laughter, and vibrant heart...until we meet again. Cheers!

Mary Ellen and I grew up together. My sister , Mary Ellen and I spent many hours playing with our Barbie’s. We always had to be quick to choose our boyfriends because we all wanted Paul McCartney and George and John were the ones you had to settle for if you weren’t fast enough!
We spent summers in our pool talking about our life and seeing who was the faster swimmer or who could hold there breath the longest. We also held doggie parties for her dog duke and my dog dini who had to put up with wearing party hats!
Years later she would visit me at my home in stony point and here we were again floating in my pool solving all the worlds problem only this time we had some help with some vodka for her and wine for me.
I already miss our 2 plus hour conversations, hearing all about her adventures out west and of course her beautiful grandchildren.
Swim on Mary I know how much you loved that pool!
❤️Forever in my heart❤️
