Mary Rivera

Mary E. Rivera, 85, a lifelong resident of Taos went to be with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Sunday, January 16, 2011. She was born on February 27, 1925 in Taos, NM to Francisco and Abenancia Esquibel. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Joe M. Rivera, her daughter, Aurora Valdez, and three sisters, Rose, Beatrice and Dorothy. She is survived by her two sons and one daughter, Juan F. Rivera and wife Sennie, Joe M. Rivera and wife Bert, Lola Sanchez and husband, Fidencio, Jr.; son-in-law (husband of Aurora), Rafael I. Valdez; nine grandchildren, Rafael, Toby, Brandie, Sonya, Regina, Daniel, Barb, Stephanie, Harold and nine great-grandchildren. She is also survived by four sisters and five brothers. She was a devoted Christian and loved to be around family. She will be greatly missed and loved, but never forgotten.

Rosary was recited on January 20, 2011. Funeral mass was held on January 21, 2011. Both services were held at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with interment following at the Santa Fe National Cemetery.
