Melanie Danielle Martinez, age 36 went with to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday, September 27, 2021, with her parents by her side. Melanie was born to Pete and Yvonne Martinez on June 14, 1985. Melanie was bright and an overachiever academically, she excelled in everything she set out to do. After graduating from high school in 2003, Melanie’s first job was working for Valdez and Associates as a receptionist this stirred up her enthusiasm for real estate. She passed her real estate certification exams on her very first try this opened many opportunities for her as a real estate agent in Santa Fe. Soon afterwards she became interested in insurance and became successful working at Allstate Insurance Company for many years. Although Melanie achieved professional success her greatest accomplishment was becoming a mother, she found her greatest joy in her children Leah and Josh they truly fulfilled her life and she loved them unconditionally. Melanie had an uncanny ability to reach people in a deep positive way, she made a lasting impression on everyone she met with her big beautiful brown eyes and unforgettable smile, and cheerful personality. She had such a tender and compassionate heart always giving to those in need: feeding the homeless, visiting the sick and helping anyone she could. Melanie was preceded in death by grandparents Atanacio and Bersabela Martinez, Olivia Montoya, aunt Darlene Mcknight, cousins Angelo and Christian Martinez-Mack, in-laws George and Dee Dee Herrera all whom she loved very dearly. Melanie is survived by her parents Pete and Yvonne Martinez, sister Melissa “Missy” Martinez, children Leah and Josh Herrera, close sister-friend Antoinette Moya-Patnode, and many relatives and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, October 8, 2021, 10:00 am, at The Light at Mission Viejo, 4601 Mission Bend, Santa Fe, NM 87507.

To the dear family of Melanie, we are so sorry to hear about your daughter. She was a truly beautiful person inside and out, we were blessed to have had her in our family for a short period of time and grateful for the new and lasting friendship we developed. When we lost our cousin Greg, Melanie was by our side from beginning to end, my cousin Greg loved her dearly, and I know she loved him..she truly did have a heart of gold.
Melanie, your with Greg now, give him a big hug for us and you both fly with the angels in heaven. Love You!
