Nicholas Adam Capelli, passed away on June 13, 2023 at his residence in Los Alamos, NM. Nicholas, born on March 3, 1996, was only 27 years old. His family is deeply saddened by his death.
Nicholas was a beautiful and precious person inside and out. Nicholas had a heart of gold and was a remarkable young man that made impressions on even the most unlikely of people. His witty sense of humor and irresistibleness, along with his empathy and compassion charmed everyone in his life from his closest family members to strangers he just met. His willingness to help others will never be forgotten. Nicholas had a beautiful soul and will be dearly missed.
Nicholas had a long battle with drug addiction. He fought his addiction as hard and long as he could. Unfortunately, a life of recovery led to pain and anguish for him that was too great for most to imagine. Nicholas is undoubtedly now in heaven with the good Lord. Nicholas’ suffering is finally over and he is now at peace.
Nicholas loved to go camping, fishing, skateboarding, hiking, playing baseball, prospecting for gold, hunting for antlers, and being with his family. Nick was a very sensitive and a caring person. Nick loved adventure, dreamed big, and wondered about the unknown. He had an amazing green thumb and took pride in the plants he nurtured to life season after season.
Nicholas is survived by his father Steve, his mother, Deanna, stepdad, John, his brother, Ryan, grandmother Jean and grandmother Ruth. He is also survived by many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and other family members. He is proceeded in death by his grandfather Tom, grandfather Earl, aunt Kathy and his kitty Nunu.
The Rosary will be sung with a visitation service to follow on Thursday June 22, 2023, at 3 pm at Rivera Family Funeral Home’s Kiva Chapel, 417 Rodeo Rd, Santa Fe, NM 87505. Mass will take place Tuesday, June 27th at 11 am at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church of Los Alamos with a reception to follow at Parish Hall. Arrangements for this day are being handled by the family of this beautiful soul.

My condolences to the family. When losing a loved one it can be unbearable. In the Bible book of Isaiah 25:8 Jehovah God promises soon to "swallow up death forever." He also promises to bring back those who have fallen asleep in death (Acts 24:15). In a little while longer this kind of pain will be a thing of the past (Revelations 21:4). I am so sorry for your loss of your loved one. May all the blessings and peace come your way at this time. Steve, I can always remember how hard it has been for you and for the rest of the family. I experience losing a young grandson at an early age 39 three years ago. Dennis and I always think of you and hope you are ok. I don’t know what we’re going to do without you Nick! We miss you so much already! The time with you was so short, but I’m so thankful to have had you as my nephew. I will always feel honored I was to be able to help take care of you at the Ark for the first couple of years of your life. My sweet little nephew ran the (baby) show with your cute looks and sweet smile. You now know how much you meant to be. I wish you knew it in while in this life.
