It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of our beloved Oclides Maria Soleded Tenorio, 85. Oclides went suddenly to be with our Lord on July 2, 2023. She was a lifelong resident of Arroyo Seco. Oclides dedicated her life to her family. The impact of her love and faith-filled life had on her extended family and all those who had the privilege of knowing her will be felt every day forevermore. We are honored to have had her in our lives. She was a beautiful kind person, humble, amazingly strong, intelligent, generous, always thoughtful of others and a wonderful mother.
Oclides was a devout Catholic her entire life and a member of the Sacred Heart League. She was a retired educator and bilingual director for Taos Municipal Schools for 33 years. She was loved and respected by students and colleagues alike. She liked to travel, write, and was an avid reader. She was very knowledgeable about local and New Mexico History and loved our Spanish, language, culture, and heritage.
Oclides was predeceased by her husband, Mike Tenorio, granddaughter Estrella Tenorio, and daughter-in-law Marlene Tenorio. She had already lost her parents, Jose Maria Quintana and Alicia Torres Quintana, five siblings: Pablo Quintana, Feloniz Homdus, Amada Quintana, Azucena Felix, and Elisa Romero. She is also preceded in death by numerous nieces, nephews and many other family members.
Oclides is survived by her children: Michael Tenorio (Marlene+), Andrew Tenorio, Regina Tenorio Gorum, and Edwina Tenorio (Eric). Her grandchildren: Enrico Tenorio (Katie), Estevan Tenorio, Craig Gorum, Maya Gorum (Joe), her great-grandson Enrico Santos and a great-granddaughter on the way. Her two surviving brothers are Bolivar Quintana (Elvira+), and Celestino Quintana (Clorinda). She is also survived by a very large extended family of nieces, nephews, god-children, and friends who always asked about her. Oclides will be with us always in our hearts and in our memories.
Rosary will be recited on Thursday, July 13, 2023 at 9 AM with funeral mass at 10 AM at Holy Trinity in Arroyo Seco and interment to follow at the Arroyo Seco Cemetery

I'm so sorry! Everything you said about her is true. I started working for the Taos Schools and met Oclides. She worked for the Title IV Bilingual Program. She was the director. She had a great crew and was so smart. I only knew her professionally but what a whip! May she Rest in Peace. She lived her life in Peace. We have lost a true hero for bilingual education. Paz con todos!

To the family of Oclides. Our deepest condolences from myself and my mother Faby Montoya. Oclides was her best friend growing up. They went on many adventures together. We will keep all of you in our prayers.
