Biography


Odilia (Lila) Chavez, a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and Guadalupana passed away peacefully at home on December 5th, 2022. Lila was born  in 1935 to Andres and Senaida Torres of Llano Quemado.  She is proceeded in death by her parents, sisters, Anita and Pricilla (Manuel), brothers, Damian (Connie), Paul (Tita) and Tony and special Tia, Loy.  She is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, Juan Chavez, sisters, Adelia, Trinidad and Ruth, brother, Ernest (Flora), son, Harry (Dora), daughters, Rosemary (Steve), Becky and Jenny (Rudy), eleven grandchildren and twenty three great grandchildren as well as many other relatives and friends. 


Service will be held at a later date.

Family...Prayers and loving thoughts going out to you all! My heart is saddened by the loss of Tia Lila. I wasn't able to see her as often as I would like because of distance. But when I did she was always welcoming and warm. I will never forget the double baked potatoes she made along with the varieties of pies and cakes. Living in California put us at a disadvantage from building a bond with my aunts and uncles in Taos . We did send christmas cards to each other every year except this year. I will think of her always! May God be kind to you all and smile upon you always!
