Ramon Tapia

Biography


Ramon I. Tapia, age 80, a resident of Santa Fe, NM passed away on Thursday, February 17, 2011 after a long battle with lung disease. He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Loyola P. Tapia,; parents, Pedro and Anita Tapia; sisters, Mary and Esther Larranaga; brother, Gilbert Larranaga.

Ramon was born in Tapia, NM on December 27, 1930. He served his country in the US Army, and retired from Mountain Bell. Ramon will be greatly missed; he had such a big heart and a wonderful smile.j

He is survived by his sons; Bernie Tapia and wife Helene, Pete Tapia and wife Josephine, Ray Tapia and wife Loyola, Joaquin Tapia and fiance Amanda Lupardus; daughter, Sandra Roybal and husband Daniel; grandchildren: Chris (Erica), Ericalynn, Randy, Marcos, Ashley, Brianna, Eli (Shana) Anthony, and Breyana; 8 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters: Juanita Montoya, MaryLou Sandoval, Charlotte Holtzclaw, Libby Martinez (Tony) and Eloisa Couty (Fred); brothers: Delfino Tapia (Lucy), Joe Larranaga (Mary), Tony Larranaga, and Tommy Larranaga; sisters-in-law, Cippy Trujillo; along with many other loving relatives.

Serving as pallbearers: Del Tapia, Gabriel Larranaga, Santos Montoya, Andrew Encinias and Leroy Trujillo. Honorary pallbearers and lifelong friend, Gino Quintana.

A rosary was recited on February 22, 2011. A memorial mass was celebrated on February 23, 2011. Both services were held at St. Anne Parish. Interment followed at the Santa Fe National Cemetery.

Another mass will be celebrated on Sunday, March 27, 2011 at 12:00 Noon at San Isidro Church.
