It is with a broken heart that I announce the death of my son, Robert Francis (Bobby) Espinosa. Bobby was born on August 15, 1979 and passed away on August 13, 2023, two days before his 44* birthday. He was baptized on September 16, 1979 by the Most Rev. Robert F. Sanchez, Archbishop of Santa Fe and was named after him. He was baptized at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, (Pastor, Rev. Leo Lucero) with his loving God-parents Joseph and Lucille Kleczka. Bobby was pre-deceased by his father: Bud Espinosa and his beloved maternal grandparents: Fidel and Vicenta Martinez. Bobby is survived by his two beautiful daughters: Violet Espinosa and Jade Espinosa, mother Judy Martinez Espinosa, siblings: Buddy Espinosa (Maria); Amber Espinosa Trujillo (Ronnie); and Lorri Espinosa Yamaguchi (Jiro). His nieces and nephews include: Chloe Espinosa Gonzales (Placido), Santiago Espinosa, Hunter Trujillo, Krystianna Trujillo and Etsuko (Etsy) Yamaguchi. He is also survived by his very special cousins Tiffany Quintana and Anthony Quintana: his loving Uncle Larry Huckabee and Aunt Terry Huckabee; and Uncle Gilbert Martinez and Aunt Charlotte Martinez. A very special thanks goes out to Rev. Father Bill Sanchez for being my spiritual friend and advisor, also to our cousin Manny Montoya for always being there for Bobby and me through out this journey of life. His honorary Pall Bearers include his friends: Steve Martinez who ran Bobby's automotive shop and has continued to be there for him as a friend, and to his special brothers of the GOC, Guardian of the Children in Albuquerque: Travis Scarborough, Ernest Cauron (Wizard), Frank Montano (Classic), Anthony Smedley (I-hop) and Tez Stephens. Bobby was a mechanic most of his life in Albuquerque, having had two successful automotive shops. When he came to Santa Fe, he was often seen helping stranded motorists and worked for a private resident as a mechanic. He had a big heart and was always helping the homeless people with food, water and clothes. This past winter, I had given him a nice warm jacket for Christmas and when he saw a man freezing on the street, he took it off and gave it to him. Even though he didn't smoke, he would buy a pack of cigarettes incase someone would ask him for a smoke. I would cook for him and he would share all his food with the less fortunate. My son had nothing of material value, but what he had he shared with whoever was around in need. When he passed away, many of his neighbors shared with me what he had done for them in the short period that he lived there, never expecting anything in return. When Bobby spoke to any business, even though they couldn't or didn't help him, he would always say, " thank you, I appreciate you." When we were together, Bobby would open my car door for me, and have me hang onto him so I wouldn't trip or fall. The last two years of his short life were very difficult. We spent a lot of time in hospitals and urgent care facilities. We would share a lot of scripture readings and meditations. He would remind me that with God all things are possible and He doesn't give us more than we can handle. He would always tell me that I was stronger than I thought. He always ended his conversations by telling me how much he loved and appreciated me. I believe that God took him from me to end his pain and suffering. I know my mom and dad welcomed him into the gates of heaven with open arms as did Our Lord Jesus Christ.
