Robert "Rambo" Esquibel

                                                    AUGUST 7, 1970 ~ DECEMBER 12, 2021

In loving memory of Robert “Rambo” Esquibel 51, a resident of La Mesilla, NM passed away late Sunday, December 12, 2021. Robert was born on August 7, 1970 in Grants, NM.  He was a 1989 Espanola Valley High School Graduate & where he met the love of his life, his wife Joann.

He is preceded in death by his  grandparents Eloy & Nora Muniz, Elifar & Clorinda Esquibel, Father-in-law Santana Borrego, Mother-in-law Annie (Roybal) Guerin & Father-in-law Mike Guerin, Brother-in-laws Ernie “Bardo” Roybal & George Roybal, His uncles Danny Esquibel, David Mondragon, Henry Mondragon, Elias Muniz & Delfino Muniz, Aunts Margaret Vargas, Ida Garcia & numerous family and friends.

At the time of his death he was employed for the City of Santa Fe “Union AFSCME 3999” for 15 1/2 years & a Member of the Carpenter’s Local Union #1353.He Loved Jesus & loved to study the Bible. He enjoyed teaching & preaching the Bible. He Loved his family. One of his favorite past time was to follow the road wherever it took him on his Harley. Those who knew Robert “Rambo” loved his kind, generous & happy personality. He had lots of friends & seemed to make them everywhere he went.  He was willing to help whenever possible. Always leaving a lasting impression with his joking personality with whoever he met. He always gave them a hard time & was the jokester of the bunch. He had that infectious personality. Robert “Rambo” will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

He is survived by his loving wife & high school sweetheart of 34 years Joann (Majewski) Esquibel. His loving son’s Robert “Robbie” Esquibel Jr.(Bear) & Danny David George Esquibel. Brother-in-laws Joseph Serrano & Jerry Serrano. Sister-in-laws Shirlene Carrillo (Robert) & Darlene Silva. His parents George & Irene Esquibel. His brother Jamie Esquibel (Teofila) & sister Jennifer Esquibel. A special cousin whom he was close to Loretta Esquibel as well as many extended friends & family he loved. His loving chihuahua’s Chibi and Apple. His fur babies Rain, Piglet, Bubba and Kat.

A memorial service will take place at The Espanola Valley Church of Christ 1311 N. Riverside Dr. in Espanola, NM on Saturday, April 9, 2022 at 11:00am.  Burial of his ashes will follow immediately at “La Loma Vista” Cemetery in Alcalde, NM & whomever wants to join there will be an escorted precession of motorcycles to his final resting place.
