Robert Key Hilton was born on August 14, 1936 and died on May 14, 2023 at the age of 86. He was preceded in death by his parents, George Washington Hilton and Emma Kathleen Webb Hilton. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Sara Hilton, his children, Sean Hilton and Heather King, and his grandchildren, Liz Gast, Sam Gast and Jessica King. His career as a horticulturist brought him awards and gave him an outlet to use his talent for beautification in the city of Garland, Texas where he raised his family. Robert was very talented in many mediums including painting, pen and ink drawing, jewelry making, macrame, and leather work. He was a musician at an early age and continued with his love of music by attending the opera and participating in choir and chorus, which he loved. He served as the President of the Texas Hawking Association and enjoyed his time working with and flying birds of prey. He and his wife retired and moved to Tres Ritos in 1996 where he was Mayor Domo of the Tres Ritos Home Owners Association for 25 years. He also served as an elder at the Emmanuel Presbyterian Church in Penasco, NM. He was an avid reader and enjoyed playing games and spending time with his family. He maintained many friendships through the years and will be greatly missed by all.
Service will be on Saturday, June 10, 2023 at 11 AM at the Emanuel Presbyterian Church in Penasco.

My thoughts and prayers are with his family at this difficult time. Bob was something else and meant the world to me. If not for his caring, guidance, and support I would never have been able to accomplish many goals in my life. We’ve truly lost one of the great ones.
Love you guys, T.

Dear Sara, it was great knowing Robert and singing with him. He provided great strength to the bass section of the Taos Community Chorus for many years and impressed us with his ability to go deep. David and Barbara Schultz

Here's a pic of Robert at the North American Falconers' Association field meet in Woodward, OK in 1990. Robert was president of the Texas Hawking Association when I became Southern Director of the Texas Hawking Association. He was a wonderful president: organized, hard working and thoughtful. We've missed him in Texas.
