I grew up with Roy in Sea Gate and just learned of his passing. He was a terrific athlete, and someone you felt good being with. He went off to the U of Wisconsin with me and then we lost touch. I am stunned by his passing.

It is with great sadness that I honor this man. He was THE Taos Dentist, and ultimately found his true calling as a teacher. What a wonderful man

addition he made to his community. If EVERYONE gave 10% of their endrgy to the communities that they lived in, that Roy Sharfin gave to this community, we would all live in a better world. Thank you Roy, for doing your part to make this a better community and a better world. We were honored by your presence.

Dear Sharfin family,
My heart is saddened by Roy's passing. What a vital, joy-filled, concerned, energetic, loving spirit Roy was, and I know, will continue to be. How many lives he has touched and shaped! I know I can say that is true for myself, and for my daughters, Shana and Jenny. I can hear his lilting laugh still! May you be filled with peace as you live with his memories. God bless,

Roy was an incredible man and teacher. His passion for life was reflected in everything he did. His laugh was contagious and his warmth brought so much joy. We will miss him terribly.

Roy will be dearly missed. I always felt like I could wander into his classroom and ask him any question when we worked together. My husband really felt a bond with Roy as they practiced English and Spanish together weekly in Quito. We will miss his energy.

We had the pleasure of knowing Roy for a year while living in Ecuador. Our trek in Peru with Roy and Sharon was incredible, Roy was a big reason why. Roy was a great leader and teacher, full of energy, humor, and empathy.

The Taos schools and the community at large have lost a terrific guy. I worked with Roy at Enos Garcia in the mid-90's, and always enjoyed his robust morning greeting! If I am not mistaken, he also told me many years earlier, "This will be the last cavity you'll have. Next up-gum disease!"
