Serafin M. Valdez

Serafin M. Valdez – Age 80 a resident of Cañones passed away on Saturday, April 7, 2007. He was preceded in death by his parents: Belarmino and Elvira Valdez; his aunt and uncle that raised him: Juan and Rosa Madrid; three brothers: Cristobal, Arturo and Vito Valdez; three sisters: Teofila Vialpando and Elena and Ramona Valdez; two grandsons: Walter and Adrian Valdez.
Mr. Valdez was a foster grandparent.
He is survived by his wife Lucy Valdez of 57 years of Cañones; 1 brother, Hipolito Valdez of California; 2 sons: Martin and wife Georgia Valdez and Arturo Sr. and wife Aurellia Valdez; 2 daughters: Dolores Martinez and husband Lloyd and Higinia Gallegos and husband Luis Sr. all of Cañones; 6 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends.
A rosary will be recited on Tuesday, April 10, 2007 at 7:00 p.m. at the San Miguel Catholic Church in Cañones. Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated on Wednesday, April 11, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. at the San Miguel Catholic Church with father Vincente Dominguez officiating. Burial will follow at the Cañones Catholic Cemetery with the following serving as pallbearers: Marty Valdez, Arturo Valdez, Jr., Luis Gallegos Jr., Chris Martinez, Eliza Martinez, Angela Valdez, Brian Valdez and Abel Valdez. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be: his great-grandchildren: Adriana Martinez, Angelic Martinez, Julieann Martinez, Kristian Martinez, Destiny Martinez, Louis Martinez, Jr., Danyel Martinez, Latasha Valdez, Kaylee Valdez, Andrew Valdez and Justina Gallegos.
The family is very appreciative of the care provided to Mr. Valdez by Ambercare Hospice.
