Shirley Jowers Padilla

Born April 30, 1942 in Brownfield, Texas, passed away February 29, 2012 in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Shirley is preceded in death by her husband, Ramon Padilla Jr., mother, Mary Evelyn Scott, father and step-mother, Woodrow and Stella Jowers, brother, Eugene W. Jowers, maternal grandparents, Ben and Mary Myrtle Scott, paternal grandparents, William and Maude Jowers and special grandparents, Santos and Amelia Padilla, in-laws, Ramon P. and Adita S. Padilla and many uncles and aunts. She is survived by her son, Gary R. Padilla and girlfriend Arlene Rodriguez both of Santa Fe, sister-in-law, Gloria Jowers of Los Lunas, NM and special uncle, Ben A. Scott of Brownfield, Texas, aunts, Jean R. Padilla of Santa Fe, nephews, Glenn Jowers and wife Cathy, Ronald Jowers and Woodrow Jowers, nieces, Loretta Jowers, Betty Leon, April Jowers, and Mary Evelyn Jowers, ten great nephews and nieces, two great great nephews and many cousins.

Shirley worked as a secretary with the Santa Fe Public Schools retiring on July 1, 2002.

A rosary and memorial mass were held on March 6, 2012 at Santa Maria de la Paz. Interment followed at the Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Father Earl Rohleder was the Celebrant.

Honorary Pallbearers: Glen Jowers, Ronald Jowers, Woodrow Jowers, and David Padilla, Paul Valdez and Anthony Martinez

In lieu of flowers, Shirley would like her friends and family to request masses be prayed in her name.
