Shirley and I were friends since we were little girls. The last time I saw her was in August. She was making tortillas. She had already made beans and verdolagas and she insisted that I sit down an eat. It was a delicious meal. Shirley was a very giving person. My deepest condolences to her children and grandchildren. May she rest in eternal peace.

I should have messaged or called you, Shirley. I was missing you so much for 3 weeks, prior to this tragedy. Grateful our last conversation via text was good & we told one another that we loved each other very much. My heart is BROKEN. See you at the movies, Chica. I love you.
