Susan Joan Duda-Portis

Susan Joan Duda-Portis – Age 51 a resident of Alcalde passed away on Saturday, March 31, 2007. She was preceded in death by her father, Edward B. Duda; brother, George Duda; sister, Connie Duda-Martinez; and grandparents: Estephanita and Antonio Guillen. May their souls rest in peace. She loved the sun and enjoyed sitting in the sun. Her grandchildren were her love and she enjoyed playing and walking with them and hunting for rocks. She was a loving and outgoing energetic woman, who enjoyed music and dancing. She was always cleaning and helping others. She served the community as a licensed Nurse Practitioner for over 20 years. She will be dearly missed. She is survived by her mother, Clorinda G. Duda of Alcalde; brother: Edward Duda and wife Eleanor and family of Dixon; sister, Marie Duda and family of Alcalde; children: Travis Portis and wife Jovan of Chili, Tasha Portis of Alcalde, Trya Portis and husband Marlo Gray of Alcalde, Tamika Portis and husband Jeremy Ortiz of Chili and Tyron Portis of Alcalde; father of her children: Vance Portis of Ohio; grandchildren: Tresean Portis, Kaylee and Tyler Ortiz; and numerous nephews, nieces and other relatives and friends. A rosary for the repose of the soul of Susan Joan Duda-Portis will be recited on Monday, April 9, 2007 at 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Block-Salazar Mortuary. Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, April 10, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Block-Salazar Mortuary.
