SUSAN KAY RECECONISusan was born to Johnnie Lee and John P. McCauley in Santa Fe in 1952 living her whole life here. She passed away peacefully on January 27, 2024, while living with her daughter Sara, her husband Rudy Vigil, and their three beautiful daughters. Complications of C.O.P.D.As a young lady, she studied ballet with Jacques Cartier, dancing in a production of the Nut Cracker suite. She modeled for "Suzette International" at La Fonda and was equally graceful at swimming and lifeguarding at public pools and clubs. But her passion was always nursing. Studying at U.N.M., becoming a registered nurse, and working 35 years in many facets of the field. From floor nurse, Discharge Planner, Home Health Care, and Nurse Supervisor. She was ever so kind and caring with her patients and coworkers, and she made many friends along the way.She is survived by her siblings, Jan (Bill), John R. (Rebecca), Peggy (Peter), her daughter Sara (Rudy and granddaughters), Sara's father David (Celia), sisters-in-law Debrot and Sara, niece Jenny (Gabe), nephew John Frank (Esther), four great nieces and nephews, many cousins, Dr. and Sue Walden, and many dear friends.The family sends a thank you to Casa Real and Compassus Hospice for the special care they showed Su and to Dr. Fred Kullman for his care.A service will be on April 3 at 10:00 a.m. at Rivera's on Rodeo Rd., with a reception to follow of Su's favorites, coffee, and sweets! And as a lover of all flowers, please bring Su a single bloom!Sweet sister Su, We are grateful for the gift you were in each of our lives. You are dearly missed... Rest, in peace.
