Sylvia Leyba

Our beloved Sylvia Leyba, at the age of 57, has departed this life on Easter Sunday, April 4th, 2010 to be with our Lord and Savior.

Sylvia was a devoted Mother, Daughter, Sister, Aunt, and friend to many. Sylvia loved her family more than anything. She had many unique qualities and loved to give advice and help others. She was a gifted artist, and in her early years she worked for the community, and sat on the Board of Directors for La Clinica de la Gente.

Sylvia is survived by her two children, George Maez and Yolanda Maez; her mother, Benerita Leyba; sisters, Consuelo, Pauline, Virginia, and Priscilla; brothers, Samuel and Carlos Leyba. She is also survived by her two grandsons who meant the world to her, Santiago and Carlosangel DeJohn. She leaves behind many nieces and nephews who will miss her dearly.

Sylvia now gazes upon us from heaven. The grief that is felt is compensated by the knowledge that she is now in a glorious place with our Lord In Heaven.

A Rosary was recited on April 9th, 2010. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on April 10, 2010. Both services were held at St. Anne Catholic Church.

Pallbearers included: Santiago DeJohn, Carlosangel DeJohn, David Gutierrez, Paul Ortiz, Luis Leyba, Antonio Leyba, Eddie Leyba, and Toby Leyba. Honorary Pallbearer are George Maez, Samuel and Carlos Leyba.
