Teddy Vigil

Teddy Vigl Sr. of Santa Fe passed away peacefully on December 23, 2022 at the age of 85. He was born on August 24, 1937 in Rio Lucio, New Mexico. 

Teddy was preceded in death by his parents Esequiel and Sofia Vigil, maternal grandparents Cruz and Rosarito Pacheco, paternal grandparents Delfino and Erinea Vigil, Nino and Nina Amadeo and Magdalena Sandoval, his brother Joe Vigil, brother-in-law Lauriano Gurule, nephew Jerry Gurule and In laws Benjamin and Bertha Medina, brother in law Eli Medina, Melvin Medina, Rudy and Viola Arellano, Vody Medina plus other loving relatives.

Teddy was raised by his aunt and uncle Magdalena and Amadeo Sandoval in Rio Lucio. He graduated from Penasco High School in 1957 and served in the Army National Guard and retired from the Secretary of the State after 26 years of service. 

Teddy married Margaret Medina from Vadito, NM in January 1962 and moved to Santa Fe to work and start a family. He never forgot his roots, often visiting his family and working his land.

Teddy is survived by his loving wife Margaret of 60 years. His sons John Vigil Sr., Delfino Vigil, Anthony Vigil, Ted Vigil Jr. Daughter Yvonne Vigil,Geraldine Fischer. Grandchildren Johnny Vigil II,Steven Fischer, Frankie Baca, Adam Vigil,Ryan Fischer,Sophia Fischer,Sheridan Vigil and one great grandson Johnny III. Sisters Laura Gurule, Faby Lopez(Nelson).Brothers in law Ben Medina, Orlando Medina (Joyce) Larry Medina, Manuel Medina (Irene)Leonard Medina (Cecilia)Sister in law Marlene Romero,Barbara Medina plus many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at Santa Maria de La Paz on January 12, 2023, beginning with viewing and the rosary at 10:00 AM followed by the Mass of Christian burial. Interment to follow at Rosario Cemetary.
