Your son is very handsome. I speak in the present tense because that is the way he will remain. I feel your pain as I know that you feel mine. I, too, lost my son in 2005, and his father in 1992. They are together in that place that we call "home". I know that God will comfort you, even in those days that you feel less comforted because God continues to comfort me. It helps to see the blessing instead of the tragedy of my son's death. I hope you will too. May God bless you and be with you always.

What can anyone say? You know, Debbie, that Anthony and Thomas were beams of light in my classroom. Different individuals, but the same twinkle in their eye, gift of kindness, and motivation to learn. Once, when I wanted to keep Thomas in for consecutive recesses for him to master his multiplication tables, I asked him, "In addition to the joy of learning, what would make the experience more palatable for you?" Thomas asked, "What's palatable?" I loved his curiosity! I answered, "Satisfactory." "Oh," he said, "candy." So we sat there with cards and candy, studying away! What a sweetheart! Anthony, he always admired and looked up to you as his big brother. Debbie, he loved and respected you as a Mom and friend. My heart is with you both.

I was very saddened to hear about Thomas. He was always such a precious, great young man in Confirmation I. He was such a joy to have in class. His committment and dedication to his faith is what kept him in the right path. He was a respectable young man Debbie and you have to give yourself credit for the person he was. You are a wonderful sample of a good parent. I will miss him and will continue to pray for him as I do for all my Confirmation students. Rejoice, he is resting safely in the arms of Jesus and his daddy. God Bless You Both!
